    Filter Cleaning

    Here is the filter setup I was asked to clean. Pretty yukki stuff.



    This is how I have left it for now gone is the alfa grog, moved the floccor and added some air to it, new jap mat in final chamber. On a limited budget so advised to put 2 more air stones in and get some brushes in the first chamber.



    As you can see it was dark by the time I had finished.

    that is one mucky filter...i bet the stench was something else pale

    Didnt notice a smell, too busy cleaning it all out, the bottom of the filter was pure gunge.

    ooooh thats worse than my filter when i had the bactirial problem that you sorted out, how was the fish ???

    p.s been trying to get in touch to take you up on your offer at looking at the koi. ( must keep missing you when you are out).

    ran some water tests today. ph down to 7.0 (i think ime using the kusuri test kits and cant seem to make my mind up on the colour chart to say what the ph is reading)
    amonia = good
    nitrate= good.

    Hi Dave,

    Yes it was pretty bad, yours was nothing like that and I doubt it will every get like it now you have the settlement.

    the pH is easily solved with some replenish, I am out Tues but around the rest of the week.

    Ha Ha not quiet a filter queen lol! I do like doing them though, something very theraputic about them.
