Hi everyone,
Looking at getting the quarantine tank setup and running. I need budget filtration and looking for some suggestions. It is a 350gal tank, and also have a 700gal which i may setup.
Briefly looked at the green genie and fishmate pressurised systems but cant find much info on them...?

sounds promising
problem is i will need to purchase an air pump etc to aerate the k1
I take it you just use a standard issue water butt from B&Q?
Any other media suggestions? Do you have the water pumped into the top and back to the tank via gravity out the bottom?

yes standard water butt - water enters compact sieve and drops into water butt - the return pipe is at the top of the water butt
Airpump you can get the 70litre hailea hi blo on ebay for around £35 - excellent pump I run 5 between my two ponds never had a prob running 24/7
It may seem too problematic to do it this way but cleaning is no probs when you compare to box filters - also it allows you to feed as much as you want without fear of overloading filter - just add more k1

If the water enter, and leaves from the top, what do you use to ensure water circulation within the filter for maximum contact with the media?

BHM
Trying a bit of BHM in my QT vortex and see what it does if anything.
Only slow turn over with no splash but it is some I had from the tanks I sold so I thought I may as well use it and keep it mature!
