Post  martynwestone Fri Aug 19, 2011 10:03 am

Hi thanks for accepting me ! Just a quick question re the small ghost koi ! I have always had goldfish in a small tank and just wondered if small ghost koi are suitable for small indoor tanks. If so are there any tips or hints that you guys can give me please .

    Hi and Welcome

The small ghost will be ok in an indoor tank depending on size of tank and size of koi? It will need some filtration or plenty of water changes. Think its time to dig that pond really.Ghosties grow very quickly!

    Hi

Thats no problem as long as you keep a check on water quality. Plenty of water changes I think will keep you on track.

Yes many thanks again for the info !! I have a 30 lt tank with 3x 2-3 cm fish in it, pumps running fish seem very happy. Just one more quick question, the pellets that the supplier recommended are a little too big for them, so they are being crushed ! how many do you suggest on an average feed, i'm doing about 5 pellets once a day. there seems to be 1 fish who's taking them all before the others get a look in. seems to be a bit of an alfa.

    Thanks again for your help

I would feed 3 times a day if you are around to do that.Crushed pellets are fine. You could feed a bit more than you are at the moment but just keep checking the water. Have you got a test kit?

As long as you keep the levels ok all will be fine until they are too big for the tank. Then I will have them and give you some more to grow on for me!!

A pleasure.Keep in touch and check out the info on the forum.Loads to read.

The forum has been a bit quiet lately as there are so many forums about and politics get in the way.

This forum is small, friendly with just good advise and no politics!!
