it seems to be the case...although i've had a few acrobatic fish in the past two days - if the weather holds i will be netting them for a closer look and their annual start of the season growth check and photo session

Is that the outside pond that they are leaping around, what is the temperature like now with a few sunny days. I like to see the koi active all around the pond especially when the sun is warming the water too.

yes it is the outside one - temp is at 13c at the moment all fish very active and continually on the search for food - 5.45 this morning I looked out the conservatory window and they were there all looking at me in their usual feeding spot

Aww bless them, you did go out and give them a pellet each didnt you LOL Best part of the hobby feeding your koi and getting a close look at them.

no as tempting as it was i refrained - keeping to one conservative feed a day until i know that the filter is ready

Very restrained, I would have given in and put a couple of pellets in.
