How does this Yamitsu UV work on this pond it is sat ontop of the filter on the inward side, both pods are connected with flexi pipe and a T ? !!!!!!!! Once the water had entered the UV I could not find any way that the water could exit !!

Re: Here is a Puzzle ...!!
Had me baffled for a while as the pump fed direct to this then T'd off into the filter. I am looking for ideas as to how to fit it permenantly and correctly as I beleive this is actually 2 seperate units. I have placed it at the far end wall on the pond return for now with an inlet and outlet but still not happy with its position.

Re: Here is a Puzzle ...!!
hi chrissy
you are right this is two seperate units, you can tee them together at one end for the intlet then do the same at the other end, they need to be straight tee's and not the swept tee's like you would get from b&q, the reason for this is so even distribution is passed through both units. the units would have to be laid flat at they are in the picture also for even distribution, seems a bit of a weired way to uv the pond to me, ime sure these are the yumatus's uv's, what size is the pond ??????

Re: Here is a Puzzle ...!!
Yes I thought they were 2 units. There are 2 returns out of the filter so I am thinking of putting 1 UV on each return that way all the water passes through the UV's.
I havent worked out the gallonage yet as its an unusual shape and the depth is uneven, when I get the water clearer I will have a better idea of water quantity.

Re: Here is a Puzzle ...!!
This is a pump fed pond (aquamax 10,000) to a Biosys 30 filter. It is a nightmare as all the pipe is 1 1/2 inch flexi which is very brittle with age, been there all day cleaning filter & pond then trying to improve the flow through, tough job as nothing fits the flexi pipe anymore.
Got the Uv's sorted now, not much else I can do to improve it except recommend a complete new filter system. LOL

Re: Here is a Puzzle ...!!
Well there are actually 2 ponds with a waterfall joining the 2 together, gallons about 4,000 fish stock way too many goldfish 8 large koi. They dont want to spend any money changing things as they inherited it with the house and not that keen on fish LOL thats why they have left it to me to clean.LOL

Re: Here is a Puzzle ...!!
Ha Ha I wish, alot of the ponds I visit are just glorified goldfish ponds with a couple of koi thrown in. This pond has a pair of resident ducks brooding on the nest at the moment, earlier in the year they had 11 ducklings they are now on there second brood. So more of a home for them than the koi.
