Bakki Showers
I have 5 sets of showers (home made but ok!)
I really rate the showers if used with the correct media(BHM) and plenty of water over them.Need a minimum of 12000 l/h over them and more if poss.
On indoor growing on pond I have 19000 l/h over 2 sets.
There are many arguments as to whether its all the extra air or the BHM that makes the differance.
I will post some more pics tomorrow

Re: Bakki Showers or Trickle Towers
When you use these showers do you have some sort of mechanical filtration before the BHM.
Nice to hear you like them as I have heard varying reviews on them

Bakki Showers
On main pond, water from bottom drain into Nexus 3000 and then returns over the showers back to the pond.
Tanks go into vortexs first then over the showers.
Showers are not the best for clarity on their own but the koi love them..when you can see them!

Re: Bakki Showers or Trickle Towers
Does anyone still use trickle towers? You don't seem to hear much about them these days. I'm not sure about showers because of the cooling effect on the water as it passes through thus I think it would make them quite expensive to run on a heated system. I read somewhere that someone was looking at an enclosed version to reduce the cooling effect but surely this would defeat the object of these filters as the deciding factors of how effective these are is based on the volume of the water passing through (water smashing against the media) and saturation of air - if enclosed then the mixing with air would be reduced.
I have one piece of equipment that I use and as far as I am concerned would not be without and that is the Tornado Protein skimmer which really is a hybrid trickle tower / foam fractionator - it takes a bit of fine tuning in the beginning but once set is very effective.
