Hi Sheryl, and thanks for Your comments, Yeah I have a pond I am a real Koi nut. Thats how I ended up building ponds all the time. My pond is on My website, its the pond with the oval window. So tiny compared to the ponds I build for My customers.
I have loads of stuff to add to My website, including My 3 latest ponds,I must get it up to date. although the pond I am building at the moment will be the Jewel in My crown, its going to be a beauty. 25,000 gallons , its bigger than My house Laughing
    Cheers

Would also like to see this pond build 25,000 gals is a big pond, what filters are you putting on it, will it be heated ?

Always a good idea to take pictures as you go then you have something to refer back to at a later date.

Hi Chrissy I am the worlds worst with a camera, I never seem to remember one.
As with all My pond builds filtration is always the customers choice unless I believe they are making a mistake, then I would try to strear them to a better alternative.
This pond will have two large Block Built systems, fed from the drains. Also will have 3 double Bakki showers fed from 3 skimmers and mid water feeds. The customer has a very busy life style so wants the lowest maintenance pond we can achieve. Showers are 99% maintenance free and block built can be left to a couple of times a month. so He should be a happy chap. The pond will turn over once an hour so plenty of water to move.

Cheers mate, those picture where taken at day 35, so moving along nicely. Bloody weather has slowed Me again this week, although I did manage to get filter house done, all but the wall plates. Then the roof goes on Yipee, I have to admit I am handing this over to My mate as this one is a little out of My league. Full hipped Japanese style roof. Once its been cut and pitched I will take over and we are having a slate roof. Then on to the huge water fall, the joys of pond building Wink

Very nice brickwork added to the walls. Reading your website it says you are using showers on the skimmers will you be filtering the water through sieves before the showers?

Look forward to seeing more as you go.

HI Chrissy thanks for that, i just could not work out what to do. Skimmers will go straight over the showers, baskets in the skimmers will pick up any large debris. I would however always fit a sieve in front of a shower if coming from bottom drain.

Hi Chrissy, yeap K1 and Jap matt as bio stage in block built. As for DOC, this can be a thing with a showered pond, and can create a little foam on the pond in the morning. I am sure anyone with a showered pond will tell You, once the sun breaks it just burns the foam from the surface. For me the benefits of a showered pond outweigh this.
I have a showered pond and to be honest I have to be feeding like crazy, and by that I mean a kilo a day, over a long period on My 3500 gallon pond, to see any affects of this. I wonder what other filters would allow You to feed this heavy on such a small volume of water.
