why does he want to use pp if already using ozone?
there is nothing that pp can do that the ozone won't be doing already if applied correctly
As for the mix - ozone and salt is ok - ozone and pp would raise the orp level to sterility therefore killing every life form

I dont understand the Ozone thing except it nukes everything. The reason he wanted to do a half dose of PP is because his koi have mucosed up again and he wants to show them at the east pennine show this weekend, he thought the PP would reduce the mucos so they looked good for the show !!!

    OMG!!
if they are experiencing heavy mucus then there are problems either with water or grabmegotchas
I certainly would not advocate pping fish JUST for a show - sorry but I just think that is horrendous

Just spoken to the guy on the phone and he went ahead earlier in the evening and did a half dose. He says they are all ok and hopes it has done what he wanted it to do. Surprised

I know its not adviseable in general PPing a pond, but a standard practise for preparing koi for shows to clear the mucus up of any debris. I wont go into others things. Razz

I am not against the use of pp or ozone both are valuable to the koi keeper however, the use of them together is a different story

Sadly you can only give advise to people who will listen, at the end of the day it is their decision whether to take onboard if they think they know better then there is nothing more we can do.

PPing a pond is sometimes necessary even for experienced keeper it can be fraught with problems.

People use pp as a maintenance tool to lower DOCS
However, if you are getting excessive DOCS then you need to upgrade your filters to deal with it...there are much safer and less harsh ways of dealing with it than BLEACH

Totally agree with Rich on this one, pp is useful for treating certain parasites as a one off treatment. There is no substitute for maintenance if there is a build up of organics then the system needs reveiwing.
