What water testing kits / apparatus do you use?
How accurate do you find them? Ease of use?

I have tried quite a few over the years. In my experience the worst for inaccuracy was the Yamitsu. Kusuri are very good but a bit on the pricey side.
I currently use the Sera range (used to use these in my marine keeping days and have a lot of faith in them) I purchased the koi set. Initial outlay is high but has been well worth it - professionally made and for accuracy comparable to Kusuri - comes in a handy briefcase includes
    Test reagents for exactly monitoring
    water parameters in Koi ponds.

The professional set contains nine different water tests:
    pH value, total hardness (GH),
    carbonate hardness (KH),
    ammonium/ammonia (NH4/NH3),
    nitrite (NO2), nitrate (NO3), phosphate (PO4),
    iron (Fe) and copper (Cu).

The most important piece of testing equipment I use is the Hanna pH meter, having very soft source water (tap 7.0pH) kH 2d this meter gives me an instant reading and an alarm if it goes above or below what I want it at.

    http://www.hannainst.co.uk/product/HI-981402-pH-meter-with-selectable-visual-alarm/HI-981402/

Occassionally I will use the Kusuri tablet range for Nitrite & Ammonia.

Another is a TDS meter to check how clean my system is. You need to know your tap reading for this and the difference gives a guide to the organic build up.

very true simon - I know some dealers keep there Koi in salted vats - this can cause big problems when you transfer to a non salted pond
